Ryujins Ryoji Shinomoto to publish children of the Bodom Tribute album “Children of Bushido” in April

Ryoji Shinomoto ((Ryujin) has announced a new one Bodom children Tributalbum with the name Children of Bushido. The record is published by Napalm Records On April 18 you will find his first single, a cover of “Lake Bodom”, below.

Shinomoto commented on the album:

Alexi Laiho – an extraordinary rock star, guitar hero and composer (children of Bodom, Bodom after midnight) – was processed in 2020. His influence was immense not only in the West, but also in Japan. Anyone who now sees me as a lead guitarist and singer in a metal band can easily understand how much they have influenced my musical journey.

Last year, when I published Raijin & Fujin with Matt von Trivium, I came across a comment on Napalm's video, which it calls children from Bushido. That triggered an idea – what if I played COB's music in Ryujin's characteristic Samurai Metal style?

I introduced myself to replace the synthesizers with shamis, koto and traditional flutes and add Taiko drums to create an even symphonic sound. I also thought about transforming the harmonious minor and pentatonic scales into unique Japanese scales such as Hira-Choshi, which I often use in Ryujin's music.

The songs that I selected for this album cover band.

Alexis Musik continues to live, also in Japan, far from Finland. Bushido children are proof of this.

He also added the following about the single:

This song comes from Children of Bodom's first album “Thing Wild” and is very popular in Japan. I remember how I saw in the high school how Alexi taught the intro in a Japanese guitar magazine, and I practiced it like crazy.

For my arrangement I gave him a “Samurai Metal” application – dazzling shamis, traditional Japanese flutes and a more difficult orchestral arrangement to create a more symphonic feeling. I also adapted the guitar solos and OBBligatos by replacing the original scales by Hirajoshi and other traditional Japanese scales and corresponds more with the solos that I play in Ryujin. There is even a small tribute to the traditional Japanese song 'Sakura' hidden in part of the solo.
