Sales overshadow strongly

The basketball for women from Cal Poly had a strong start with 20 points in the first quarter against UC Riverside, but was released on Saturday with a defeat against the Highlanders with a defeat against the Highlanders.

The Mustangs (11-15, 6-10 BIG West) switched their starting tension to open the game and tried to wake up the momentum early. The changes paid off in the first half when Cal Poly built a steady lead, but they could not maintain them after half-time and were exceeded 23-10 in the third quarter.

UC Riverside (13-14, 9-8 Big West) scored a run of 14: 2 in the third quarter, and the Mustangs did not lead again for the rest of the game.

Cal Polys offense shot all the cylinders for a large part of the game. The Mustangs shot 74% in the first half and ended the game from the field with 60%.

The graduate monitor Ashley Hiraki was perfectly off the ground, 6-against-6 and ends with 14 points. Mary Carter, the striker of Sophomore, added another 14 points when shooting 50%, while Redshirt brought in 12 points and five rebounds in the second year.

The game also marked a career milestone for Senior Guard Sydney Bourland, which reached 500 career blinds.

Despite one of the most efficient shooting performance of the season, Cal Poly's basketball was unable to overcome costly sales, which gives the Highlanders an advantage of the overall shot for the overall program at the end of the game.

Sales were a recurring problem all season, and they proved to be particularly expensive against UC Riverside. The Mustangs have committed 21 sales that the Highlanders converted into 33 points. Cal Poly managed only eight points from the mistakes of UC Riverside.

With only five games in the regular season, Cal Poly is currently in 8th place in Big West and holds on to the last spot for conference tournaments.

The Mustangs have two upcoming matchups against teams below 0.500, including a head-to-head against Fullerton, who only sits one game behind Cal Poly and wants to end Cal Poly from the argument after the off-season.

The Mustangs return on Thursday, January 27th, in the Mott Athletics Center at 6 p.m. in the Mott Athletics Center for the Blue Green Rivalry against UC Santa Barbara.
