Salvation Army of Johnson City, which was still closed in the middle of the running gas leak

Johnson City's salvation army still faces challenges because its protection remains closed due to a continuing gas leak.

Since the beginning of the closure on February 21, 48 people have been moved to a temporary living space. Officials estimate that the gas leak will be repaired by Friday, March 7th.

Officials ask the community to continue to help during this time.

“We remain deeply grateful for the generosity and friendliness of the municipality of Johnson City,” said Major Maureen Diffley, Corps Officer of the Salvation Army of Johnson City. “As we navigate these persistent challenges, we continue to rely on the support of our neighbors to help ourselves to offer the needy essential services. Your contributions – whether through financial gifts, volunteer work, donations for food or prayers – have an incredible influence. “
