Sarasota County to change the garbage collection from March

With a new waste collection process on March 31, the residents of Sarasota County can see how their new day of the garbage collection uses an online card.

In 2024 Sarasota County ended his 20-year partnership with waste management. Waste Pro from Florida and FCC Environmental Services signed four -year contracts for garbage collection services from the end of March.

The two providers will divide services into two districts of the non -legal Sarasota County. Waste Pro will cover the northern district, an area north of State Road 72 and east of the Midnight Pass Road. FCC Environmental will cover the southern district, which includes coastal areas and the eastern Sarasota County.

“Garbage, recycling and garden waste will continue to be collected in one day,” said a fact sheet of the district. “There are no changes to recycling. Use your blue recycling car and follow the current disposal guidelines.”

There is also no change in the guidelines for the collection of court waste.

The district still delivers new garbage trolleys to the residents, a process that is to be completed by March 23. There were three sizes: 95 gallons, 65 gallons and 35 gallons, although the stock exchanges will be available in July.

Those who live in the cities of North Port, Sarasota and Venice are excluded, but the district card offers links for these residents to find more information about their garbage collection.

With regard to the respective four-year contract of each company, the district of FCC environmental services of $ 7.1 million and $ 5.8 million will pay according to district records.
