Scad celebrates the number of Oscar nomination. What you should pay attention to

Savannah, Ga. –

The 97th Oscars are broadcast here on WJCL 22 ABC Sunday, March 2.

And exactly here in Savannah, over there on the Savannah College of Art and Design, it is a big night full of celebrations.

This year the Savannah College of Art and Design is celebrating a new record when it comes to the number of Oscar nominations with SCAD bonds.

“We have our largest number-136 alumni and students who worked on over 18 Oscar-nominated films. So we are so enthusiastic, so proudly,” said Andra Reeve-Rabb, Dean of the School of Film and Acting and Executive by Scad Casting.
And the categories in which Scad -Alumni and students are nominated far and wide from the best picture to the best costume design.
“We have two alumni who actually worked on 'Wicked'. So that's something that we are simply drunk about,” said Reeve-Rabb.
The Oscars night is a big one on campus, since hundreds of scad students, faculties and employees come together in the Trustee Theater for a watch party.
“We will have a red carpet. The students get out. They are from all programs, they know. We really appear to celebrate our student successes and our alumni successes and our successes of the faculty. It is really-you know, our stadium, our football team,” said Reeve rabb.
And Reeve-Rabb says that so many Oscar nominations for SCAD are a large sales argument when it comes to recruitment and future success of college.
“Don't you want to go where you can point out the Oscars and say: 'Hey, I can be. I can be in a short time.' I mean, these are alumni that have completed two, three, four or five years ago.
