Topeka, Kan. (Wibw) -Shawnee Heights Star Football player Tyren Parker has undertaken to stay near home and play College football for the Kansas Jayhawks.

It is another major recruitment victory in the state for the Jayhawks in the 2026 class.

Although Tyren will play defensively in college, he has proven at the high school level that he is a playmaker on both sides of the ball.

He ended the 2024 season with almost 1,200 reception rooms and 11 touchdowns. He also recorded 48 duels and two interceptions.

The 6'3 ″ 3-star recruit is one of the top recruits in Sunflower State and chose KU compared to offered from K-State, Iowa State and Oklahoma State.

He said to 13 sports that it was the coaching team that sold him to Ku.

“What my eye really attracted was their coaches, relationships and how they talk to me. Coach Samuel is a very big man, he always knows what to do with his players. He always has a connection to them and I like how he does it, ”said Parker about the employees who recruited him. “Coach Lance Leipold, he is a very good man. When he came to my school, he just looked at me, he didn't look at his time, he was just everything about me. He just wanted to come to see me. “

As a junior, he has another year to shine with the Thunderbirds before going to Lawrence.
