Shiloh presents 'Johnston's last day' Ranger hike

Johnston's last day Ranger hike – the south never smiled the story of General Albert Sidney Johnston in Shiloh again

Shiloh, Tenn. Saving the date and joining a special hike with ranger learners on Saturday, March 29.

Ranger Anthony Killion will lead a hike of about three miles across the Shiloh battlefield, with the footsteps of General Albert Sidney Johnston of Confederated. Find out from the moment when he listens to the first shots on the tragic moment when he succumbed to a mortal wound.

Ranger Anthony will examine the battle because he would have unfolded in front of Johnston's eyes. Johnston knew that the Battle of Shiloh would be a critical moment in his military career and the assets of the Confederated cause in the West. He stayed on the front all day on April 6, collected his men and directed the movements of brigades in important moments to try to ensure a victory for the confederates.

What important command decisions had the result of the fight, and General Johnston would have been more successful if he had stayed in the back of the army? Ranger Anthony will think about these questions and more during the hike.
