Shocking video shows huge clouds of smoke that fill the air in Kingston

A shocking video shows smoke clouds from a fire in a historic building that fills the air in Kingston.

Firefighters were called to Richmond Road shortly before 2:30 p.m.

A total of 15 fire engines reacted, and around 100 firefighters tackled the fire in the historic cinema building.

The video shows the street, which is cordoned off by the police and the black smoke and fills the air.

The fire building, which is located at the intersection between the Richmond Road and the Canbury Park Road, is the list of class II.

Crews from Kingston, Surbiton, New Malden, Twickenham and Richmond are on site. At this point it is not known how the fire started.

The commander Will Will Thompson, who is at the crime scene, said: “The crews are making constant progress in combating the fire.

“There are road closures and we ask people to avoid the area to reduce the disorder.

“The fire produces smoke, so we advise residents to keep their windows and doors closed.

“Two of the 32-meter record players of the brigade are used as observation storms that offer incident commanders with an aerial absorption to improve situation awareness and to support tactical decisions.”
