The technical aspects of an Air accident examination aim to understand whether the aircraft or its systems played a role in the accident and whether the way in which the aircraft was designed, tested, certified or maintained was played a role. To underpin all of this is the importance of understanding human contributions. As an investigator, we have to look at the human interactions and organizational influences that may have contributed to an accident, be it in the immediate prior to an accident or in time.

In this presentation, some frequent topics in connection with human performance and organizational factors are examined that arise during technical studies. And it will point out how a more human approach for aircraft design, especially among the viewers, could be part of the solution.
