Rochester, Minnesota – The law firm in Olmsted County has accused a man from Rochester, who arrested in what the Rochester police authority described as a historical cyber break.

The criminal complaint reveals the scope and tactics, which are used in the alleged case of cyber sexual crimes for children.

Rochester's police said they first found out about the criminal activity through a cyber tip that was received last October. The investigators have followed the account information to John Timmerman's home, 43.

In November, the investigators have a search command at Timmerman at home and confiscated a personal phone and two work telephones. A search of the working phone resulted in dozens of Facebook accounts and several Instagram accounts that pretend to be minors set up by Timmerman claims the court documents.

The criminal complaint states that he has been due to other minors from 8 to 17 years. It describes several news chains in which Timmerman would ask the victims to send sexually explicit pictures and videos of themselves. Timmerman would then threaten to share the explicit files with people who are known to the victims.

State and local law enforcement agencies identified 169 victims in Olmsted County and elsewhere in the United States. Other victims come from Canada, Great Britain, Nigeria and other countries in accordance with the court documents. The police and public prosecutor say that additional victims could be identified if the examination continues.

The fees accuse Timmerman, requesting the pictures and blackmailed the young victims from November 2023 to December 2024.

Timmerman is charged with 13 crimes, including the use of minors in pornographic work, the possession of pornography that a child under 14 and represents a child through electronic communication for inclusion of sexual behaviors.

The conditional deposit for Timmerman was set at 150,000 US dollars. He will be back to court next month.
