Special education by Oldham County, who is charged with criminal abuse

Louisville, Ky. (Wave) – A special school teacher of the Oldham County High School was arrested in the classroom after allegations of abuse.

Jamison Woods is charged with criminal abuse, two charges of harassment with physical contact and official misconduct.

According to a criminal complaint, the first incident occurred on January 28th. Woods was with a small group of students with special needs when she supposedly started to show the intervention of crisis prevention for a 15-year-old student with autism in order to “no justified reason”.

Court documents state that the student who was not disturbed, but Woods was asked after a hug. Woods supposedly said no and said: “You have bad germs.” Woods then went on a closet while the student hugged again.

The next reported incident occurred on January 30th. The police said Woods threw a yoga ball with a 15-year-old mentally disabled student and a 14-year-old student with several disabilities and hit both students several times. An assistant in the classroom saw the alleged incident.

The schools of Oldham County published an explanation of the allegations with the words:

“We were made aware of allegations in which a teacher was involved in OCHS at the end of January. The teacher was immediately removed from school and put on vacation during one of OCPD under the leadership of OCPD. The teacher has not been back on campus since the allegations. We continue to work with the ongoing investigations and are committed to the security and well -being of our students, while we respect the privacy of those involved. “
