Splitgate 2: Open Alpha end date and available platforms

A new beta for a new game

After a long development and some pre-alpha tests, Splitgate 2 finally started an open alpha for all players. This is a direct continuation of the original Splitgate, but with some urgently needed changes, which hopefully enable more playback and durability.

Regardless of whether you were a fan of the original before it was driven down or looking for an exciting new FPS you can jump into, Splitgate 2 could be the next multiplayer game in which you sink your teeth. However, to take part in the Open Alpha, you need to know which platforms on the portal shooter are available on, how to play and when the alpha ends.

How to play the Splitgate 2 Open Alpha

Fortunately, Splitgate 2 is a free game, which means that no purchase is required for playing. The Open Alpha is on the PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S available. Unfortunately, it looks as if there were no plans for the shooter to come in the last generation consoles, so that the PS4 and Xbox One players have to upgrade to play.

The open alpha can be downloaded on the marketplace of your system. If you are in Steam, simply enter “Splitgate 2” into the search bar of the business, go to the game and download the alpha application. At the console, either go to the PS or Microsoft Store, search for the game and download the file. The open alpha does not have too big file, so you shouldn't have to worry about deleting games to make room on your hard drive.

As soon as the alpha is installed, you can start and play it. Splitgate 2 also supports cross play, so you are able to celebrate and play with every friend, regardless of which platform you are on.

Splitgate 2 alpha end date

Splitgate 2 Alpha runs from today, February 27th, until March 2. These are only a few days of the season, but this alpha is only for the developers who collect feedback from the community, test servers and see how the game works in the hands of consumers.

It is likely that additional alpha tests will start later this year, since Splitgate 2 is moving closer to a potential release date. For now, however, this is the only announced alpha, so you would like to make sure that you receive a few seasons if you want to try the sequel.
