Spring crafts, lawn landscape tips highlight march library events

In March, Turlock Library offers a variety of events that are open to the community to promote literacy and inspire the learners of all ages.

Independent readers up to the age of 12 are invited to practice their reading skills with the special reading to a dog program on March 1st in the Turlock library. This program is intended to help children gain confidence in their reading skills by reading certified therapy dogs. Place is limited and online registration is required.

At (w) on Tuesday will take place on March 4 at 4 p.m. The participants can come to the Turlock Maker room and learn about glass art sculptures and then create their own “glass” sculpture with plastic bottles and Sharpie pens. Materials are made available. This program is designed for over 9 years.

Younger children will have the opportunity to bend their creativity while designing sun catchers on March 4 at 4 p.m. This activity is aimed at children 8 and younger, but all age groups are welcome. Children under the age of 4 must have a direct supervision for adults.

The Aarp Foundation will hold free support from IRS-trained volunteers every Wednesday in March, March 5, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome because there is no option for the pre-drawing registration.

In the library, the Turlock Pokémon Day will be held to the library from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in March to meet others who share their passion for Pokémon. Keep off and feel free to act or fight on your Nintendo Switch, with your trade cards for a friendly game, you hunt after Shinies in Pokémon GO and much more. Welcome all age groups; Children 4 and under must have a direct supervision for adults.

The friends of Turlock Library will meet on March 5 at 6:30 p.m. New arrivals are welcome.

The library will organize a presentation by the local historian Scott Atherton in Turlock in the 1920s at 11 a.m. on March 8.

The Mystery Lovers Book Club will meet on March 10th at 10:30 a.m. This month, Allison Brennan's club will discuss “The Third to Die”. Detective Kara Quinn, on vacation from the LAPD, is in her hometown Liberty Lake in the early morning when she encounters the body of a young nurse. The type of death shows a pattern of highly controlled anger. In the DC, the FBI special agent Mathias Costa works its newly shaped mobile reaction team. The word reaches Matt that the murder of Liberty Lake fits the profile of the compulsive triple murderer. It will be the first case for the MRI. This time you have the chance to stop this eager, albeit difficult to meager murderer before it strikes again. But only if you can find out who he is and where he is hiding before he disappears for three years. The Mystery Lovers Book Club meets on the second Monday of each month in the Community Room Turlock Library.

At (w) Eend event on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. March 11th, participants will build Lego creations and then bring them to life with stop-motion film. This program is designed at the age of 9.

Children of all ages can come to the library on March 11th at 4 p.m. and build Lego creations with the Lego and Duplo blocks of the library. This program helps young people develop critical thinking and teaches basic technical concepts. Children under the age of 4 are welcome, but must have a direct parental supervision.

The Turlock Teen Anime Club will meet from March 12 of March 12th at 5 p.m. This month the club “Moriarty The Patriot” (TV-14) will watch and then take a craft. This event is for 12-19 years old

A Turlock vapor (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) on March 18 will contain mobile phones at 4 p.m. Children can learn about balance and weights while practicing their finger strength while making mobile phone. This activity is aimed at children from the age of 8, but all age groups are welcome. Children under the age of 4 must have a direct supervision for adults.

At (w) Eend event on Tuesday at 4 p.m., March 18, the participants will allow the participants to be Herbal and spices detectives with the master gardeners. Children can take a “quiz” and see whether they can use their senses to name the Mystery plants used in spices. The participants can take seeds home and found their own herb garden in the ground or in a saucepan. This program is designed for over 9 years.

The Turlock Chess Club will meet on March 19 at 5 p.m. on March 19. Regardless of whether you bring your board with amateur, master or somewhere in between to meet others for training or friendly competition against others.

The library will organize an Open SEW meeting on March 21 at 1 p.m. Community members can bring their projects to the Turlock Maker room and use one of the library's sewing devices or try out a project from one of the previous classes of the library. There are a limited number of projects. The participants must be able to use a sewing machine independently. Bring your own fabric and ideas with you; Only sewing machines, Serger, iron, scissors and scraps are available. Open SEW is designed for from 18 and up.

The T (W) Een event on Tuesday at 4 p.m., March 25, is a sticker journal. Children can meet in the Turlock Library Maker Space and design a sticker journal to keep the fabulous stickers that they have collected. Materials are provided, including stickers. This program was designed for aged 9 years.

Younger children can use colored pencils and watercolors to see science how water and oil do not mix while creating their own unique works of art that take home on March 25th at 4 p.m. Designed for children from 8 years, but all age groups are welcome. Children under the age of 4 must have a direct supervision of parents or adults.

The library will organize a video game day on March 26th on March 26th. The participants can meet in the Maker area for video games in byte size on the Nintendo Switch. For from 6 and up.

The Master Gardeners will organize a “new front garden” on March 26th at 6 p.m. If you think about replacing everyone or part of your lawn, this class is for you. Find out tips for saving water, convert it to the drop and get a list of water plants.

The Turlock Library is located in the 550 Minaret Ave. The hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at noon until 8pm; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can find more information at (209) 664-8100.
