A video that shows thousands of students who sing the “star banner” in the atrium of a hotel in Louisville becomes viral.
Singing the national anthem in front of the outcome is an annual tradition for students who stay in the Hyatt Regency during the Kentucky Music Educators Conference.

A video of the Bullitt County Public Schools Choir Director shows thousands of students who sing the national anthem in a cavernous atrium of a Louisville Hotel.

The video was recorded on February 5 during the Kentucky Music Educators Conference, but it is currently being received. Several news agencies picked up the video and has accumulated more than 500,000 likes on Tiktok.

Singing “The Star Spangled Banner” in the atrium is an annual tradition for students who spend the night during the multi-day Kentucky Music Educator Conference in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Louisville, said Carrie Ann Gary, chord director of Bullitt East High School, told Courier Journal .

In 2022, CBS News reported that tradition began in 1987 after a group of students who started singing in the atrium, the timely.

“It was only inspired by students,” said Gary. “There is no person who starts with it. There are no conductor. They are just students who join together.”

Gary has gone to the conference with students every year since 2008. She is always looking forward to being the case for the first time what was the case for five of her six students who visited this year.
