Statesboro Police: 17-year-old for murder at Park Place Shooting charged

A 17-year-old youth of Statesboro is charged with the fatal shootout of a 46-year-old man in Park Place Apartments, the police said.

The victim identified as Eric Alexander Reese was a resident of the Park Place, the Statesboro police authority said in a press release on Saturday morning.

Lester Parrish from the University Pointe Apartments at Harvey Drive was arrested on Saturday morning in Avenue in Southern in the Georgia Avenue and charged with murder, serious bodily harm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. On Friday evening at the crime scene, the police said, five people, including a teenager, were taken into custody. They said that after the shootout, several people came into a nearby field over the Veterans Memorial Parkway where the five were arrested.

Jake Futch, Coroner by Bulloch County, said on Friday evening that he was called to the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in response to a victim with a gunshot wound in his chest.
