Steve Kerr is now sitting on the Warriors record book

When it comes to winning rings, Steve Kerr knows a lot about it. In his 15 seasons played in the league, he won five championships (three with the Chicago Bulls, two with the San Antonio Spurs). The 59-year-old was 11 seasons head coach of the Golden State Warriors. The team won four championships. With all the success that Steve Kerr was on the edge, he has now set up a new Warriors record.

Steve Kerr now thinks Warriors Record for coaching victories

In a close game, the Warriors were able to defeat the New York Knicks 97-94 on Saturday. The victory improved the record of the Golden State in the season to 39-28, good for the sixth best in the Western Conference. The Warriors won seven in a row and have an outstanding 14: 1 record with Jimmy Butler in the line-up.

The victory also allowed coach Kerr to sit on the Warriors All-Time ranking to get Head Coaching victories. It was the 558th time that Golden State found the victory column with Kerr, who led the team. The coach of the year 2015-16 has 302 defeats and gives it an excellent profit share of 0.649.

Kerrs 558. Victory enabled him to surpass the previous record holder for victories by a head coach of Warriors. With 557 victories, the Basketball Hall of Famer Al Attles had the record for many years. He had a 10-year career as a player, all with the San Francisco Warriors. Towards the end of the career as a player, he actually became the team's player coach. Attles trained the team in the 1982/83 season and ended with a career brand of 557-518. He was on the edge at the NBA final of Warriors in 1975, where they won the Washington balls.

Among the sizes of the head coach

In NBA history, Kerrs gave him 558 victories among the 29th century among the head coaches of all time. It is one of 39 that record at least 500 notches in the profit column. Among these 39 Kerr has the fourth best profit share. The three before him are Phil Jackson (1,155-485, .704), Red Auerbach (938-481, .661) and KC Jones (522-252, .674).

Kerr is also part of a historical group of head coaches who have won at least four championships. There were only six to do this. The other five together with Kerr are Phil Jackson (11), Red Auerbach (9), John Kundla (5), Gregg Popovich (5) and Pat Riley (5).

In 2022, the league appointed the 15 best head coach in the history of the league as part of the celebration of the NBA for its 75th anniversary. Kerr was part of this legendary group. In the 2015/16 season, Golden State set a record for most victories in the regular season with 73.

Even with all of his awards, there is still a group that Kerr does not give so much respect. Some say that the former head coach of Warriors, Mark Jackson, simply built the foundation of a successful team and Kerr. Others state that Stephen Curry (as well as Klay Thompson and Draymond Green) has made his life easier for his coaching office. Ask one of his players whether he feels like that and you are almost certain that you get a fixed number. The way in which Golden State plays is a fifth title for Kerr as a trainer is not as far as fetched as in January.
