Oregon – A man from Stillman Valley, who is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, is evaluated by a psychologist to determine whether it is mentally in court.

The 24 -year -old Joseph G. Dreesen was arrested on February 26 by the Detectives of the Sheriff office by Ogle County together with members of the FBI after a search order was carried out in a rural Stillman Valley house.

Dreesen was charged on February 27 for the crime of class X. He is accused of being so low with his body and the sex organ of a 6-year-old boy between February 19, 2024 and February 19, 2025, and contested the sex organ of a 6-year-old boy. According to court files, Dreesen is charged with having touched the boy because of his own “sexual satisfaction or excitement”.

On Wednesday, the deputy defender of Ogle County Michael O'Brien called for Dreesen to evaluate a judicial clinical psychologist.

“I claim that it is a real doubt that the persistent ability to support mental health to support its defense, to help perseverance,” O'Brien told judge Anthony Peska when he asked for the evaluation appointed by the court.

The lawyer of the deputy state Melissa Voss did not refuse to evaluate the evaluation.

Dreesen has been captured since his arrest in the Ogle County prison. O'Brien said Peska that Dreesens's mental state was a “growing problem” because he had not received any prescribed medication in custody. O'Brien said the medication prescribed for Dreesen was not available in prison.

“The prison staff only allowed certain medication,” O'Brien told Peska. “Stopping this drug causes some negative effects for Mr. Dreesen.”

O'Brien asked that Dreesen was released in the course of the court system.

Peska denied this request.

“His detention is necessary,” said Peska. He set the next court date for 10 a.m. on May 21.

Crimes in class X are punished in the Illinois Department of Corrections at three years to the natural life of the obligatory supervised release at six to 60 years. The accused must serve 85% of their prison and register as sex offenders when they are released.
