Strong gusts of wind, downpours on Long Island until Monday morning

What's next: Wind gusts remain about 30-40 miles per hour. The rain begins later in the evening, but the heaviest rain will be overnight. Thunderstorms are mixed, which means that heavy downpours can stack. Localized minor floods are possible in the flood -prone areas. Be careful because the rain continues through the morning commuting. The streets will be smooth, so travel slowly and give yourself additional time.
