Sudiksha Konanki shows new video in bar with Joshua Riibe before he is missing

The missing Indian student Sudiksha Konanki and Joshua Riibe, the person who is of interest in case was seen together in an outdoor bar before they disappeared from a beach in the Dominican Republic on March 6. Ms. Konanki shows a new film material received by local Outicia sin in the bar with friends.

At some point she puts her hand over her mouth, steps away and leans over a piece of grass before returning to the bar. She then steps back to her friends, jumps with excitement and hugs a female companion.

In the same film material, a man who is assumed that he is Joshua Riibe outside the bar that is apparently drunk. Another young man seems to comfort him when Mr. Ribe stumbles backwards.

Both Ms. Konanki and Mr Ribe seem to wear the same outfits that can be seen in previously published surveillance material – Ms. Konanki in a white clothing with her hair in a ponytail and Mr Ribe in the same clothing from previous shots before they disappeared together. The two interacted in the new video and were in separate groups.

A second video shows Ms. Konanki with three other girls in the lobby of the Riu Hotel & Resort and wears the same clothing.

Ms. Konanki, a student at the University of Pittsburgh from South Riding, Virginia, had traveled to the Dominican Republic for a vacation with five friends. On the night of March 5, they went to celebrate a resort night club in a night club in Punta Cana.

She caught surveillance material in the club before going to the beach around 4:15 a.m. Most of her friends left at 5:50 a.m. and let Ms. Konanki with Mr. Riibe alone, a college senior from Minnesota, whom she met that night. A separate clip from the Riu Republica Resort shows Ms. Konanki, who walked with Mr. Riibe, on a resort path, accompanied by her friends.

Mr. Ribe, Senior at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota and originally from Iowa, has been detained since Ms. Konanki's disappearance. He was interrogated by the police of Dominicans until almost 3 a.m. on March 16. The authorities did not charge him, but have confiscated his passport while the investigation continued.

Mr. Riibe told the investigators that he was with Ms. Konanki in hip deep water, “talked and a little kissed” when a strong wave pulled her to the sea. As a trained pool rescue swimmer, he said that he tried to hold Ms. Konanki under his arms while he was swimming back to the shore and ensured that she could breathe. He said he tried to stay on the gags and said: “I picked up a lot of water.”

As soon as they reached flatter water, he placed them in front of him and saw them “running in the water in the water”. Finally, he asked if she was doing well, but did not hear her answer when he started to vomit sea water. When he recovered, she was gone. Mr. Ribe believed that she left and black on a beach chair.

The Dominican authorities are looking for their search for Sudiksha Konanki 11 days after their disappearance. While officials believe that she could drown, her family suspects a bad game. Mr. Ribe remains of interest, but no accusations against him were raised.
