Surveillance video shows trucks, which is leaving after Roller driver pulled almost 900 feet in South Nashville

Nashville, Tenn. (WSMV) -MV4 received a new surveillance video that shows the consequences of a deadly incident that took place on Monday evening in South Nashville.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), a roller driver tried to cross the Old Hickory Boulevard around 6:50 p.m. when a Toyota Tacoma pickup scored the driver. The driver was then pulled almost 900 feet under the pickup before they could be released at the intersection of the Firestone Parkway.

MNPD says the scooter driver died on site. You say the driver of the pickup decreased.

“I was actually on my way home and they blocked everything last night,” said Josh Patton, who lived nearby. “I saw a kind of what had happened.”

The surveillance video of a nearby petrol station shows a dark pickup that flies through the Firestone Parkway and the Old Hickory Boulevard crossing. In his entourage, a man is seen at the intersection with parts of a scooter on the floor.

The pickup fled from the scene towards Murfreesboro Pike.

“[People] Just go almost a hundred miles per hour, ”said Patton. “I saw [it] Sometimes, and it's just crazy, man. You just have to get very bad. “

Patton, who drives a pickup himself, tried to find out how someone couldn't have stopped after having met the person on the scooter.

“This is so heartbreaking that they are running away,” said Patton.

Hit-and-run crimes are not unpopular in Tennessee. The voluntary state finished fifth in 2022 in hit-and-run crimes per capita.

“I was pretty much here all my life and you will definitely fly here here,” said Patton. “I wanted to say that people just have to get slower and they don't have to be that much in a hurry to go.”

Metro Nashville's police say that they are still looking for the driver of the Toyota Tacoma pickup that they believe is involved.

“I mean it was just a freak accident,” said Patton. “I just can't believe this man. I saw it just broken my heart. “

The victim in this incident has not yet been identified.
