Suspect in 1990 murder of Charlotte Frau, who can be released from prison – WSOC TV

Charlotte – Marion Gales, a suspect of the unsolved murder of Kim Thomas in Charlotte from 1990, is to be released from prison tomorrow.

Gales, who has time for a non -related indictment against homicide, was never charged in connection with Thomas' Murder. Nevertheless, DNA evidence that was published last year combined him with the crime scene.

“I would say something; I would probably less less over time, ”said Lynn Thomas, Kim's sister, who continues to seek justice for the murder of the sister.

Lawyer David Rudolf, who represented Ed Friedland, Kim's husband and another suspect, last year: “The evidence I saw against Gales are among the strongest that I have ever seen.”

Kim Thomas was brutally murdered in her house in July 1990. Over the years, two men have been referred to as suspects: her husband, Dr. Ed Friedland, and Marion Gales, a craftsman who worked in the house.

Friedland was arrested at one point, but the indictment was quickly fallen. Gales has been in prison for over 20 years for a separate conviction of homicide.

The DNA test results published by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police last year showed that pubic hair, which were collected from Kim's body and DNA on a carpet, matched the DNA of Gales.

In addition, a sample from one stain on a mattress cover matched both stews and with Friedland.

Despite this evidence, Thomas expressed doubts about the participation of gales and cited DNA experts who told her that the game was partly and not a complete profile.

“I am 99.9% sure that he had nothing to do with my sister's murder and nobody can place him there,” she said.

The public prosecutor confirmed that the status of the case of Kim Thomas, who remains open, did not change the status of Kim Thomas.
