Suspect in the shooting of officers killed in Lyon County | Newsradio 1230 on/99.3 FM | Hopkinsvilles news leaders

The Department of the Sheriff of the Lyon County was involved in a shooting system early Monday morning, in which a suspect was killed by Marshall County.

According to a press release, the Kentucky State Police was called to examine after a confrontation between the deputy of the sheriff of the Lyon County, and a suspect became violent. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, stood in a vehicle for US 62 shortly after midnight after he was allegedly fled before a shooting incident in Marshall County.

The suspect's vehicle stopped a short time later in Huck's travel center in Kuttawa, where the driver and the MP reported were reportedly involved in a “fatal incident”.

The deputy was not injured, but the suspect was died by Lyon County's forensic doctor.

There is no further threat to the public.
