Suspect published the shootout in Alachua, which was still examined

Alachua, Florida-Die Person, who was taken into custody yesterday after a “high risk” traffic stop in High Springs, according to a social media post from the police department of Alachua and the shootout is still being examined.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at around 4:41 p.m., the Alachua Police Department (APD) replied to the 13800 block of the NW 148th place after reporting on a shootout. Due to the type of call, the support of the Sheriff (ASO) and the HSPD (High Springs Police Department) was supported by Alachua County Sheriff's Office (HSPD).

On arrival, officers found a male victim who had suffered a non -life -threatening gunshot wound on his leg. The officials immediately provided first aid and secured the scene for Alachua County's fire service staff to ensure medical care. The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment, and an APD detective reacted to the hospital to continue the examination.

While the officials took care of the victim on site, it was found that the suspect had fled the scene before the law enforcement authorities had arrived. The investigation showed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other, so that the officials could receive the name, the physical description and the suspect's vehicle detail.

When ASO and HSPD units reacted to assist, the suspect's vehicle drove north on the NW Us Highway 441 towards the north towards Hoch. A traffic stops with high risk was carried out near the NW US Highway 441 and the NW 218. The suspect corresponded to the law enforcement authorities and was taken into custody without incidents. The person was then brought to the Alachua police for survey by detectives.

In this phase of the investigation, it was found that a verbal dispute between the two people occurred in front of the shootout. This case is actively examined by the APD's criminal investigation. At this point, no arrests were made, and the custody was released until further examination. Due to the ongoing type of this case, no additional information is currently provided.
