Suspicious injured in the officer shooting in Las Cruces after brief persecution

Las Cruces, NM (KFOX14/CBS4) – On Thursday at around 7 p.m. there was a shootout for the offer in Las Cruces, in which a suspicious was injured.

The police were called for reports about a man with a weapon in the 500 block of the South Main Street. The first officer who arrived the suspect who led the police on a short footprint.

A round was released during the persecution and hit the suspect.

The suspect fell to the ground on the 800 block of the South Main Street, and according to the LCPD, the police were able to find a firearm near the man.

The suspect was arrested and taken to a local hospital.

The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
