Swepco defines the restoration plan for stormy arklatex | Louisiana

Shreveport, La. – Thousands of Swepco customers in the entire arklatex were without electricity on Tuesday morning when storms pushed through the region.

At the climax of the storm, there were around 29,000 failures in the three-state region of Swepco in Texas. When the storms moved to the east, Louisiana was also affected with considerable damage with Shreveport- und Hornbeck areas. There are currently around 13,600 customers without electricity.

In Texas, the crews were able to quickly restore more than 16,000 customers by Tuesday in the afternoon. The remaining failures in Longview and its surrounding areas are mainly due to fallen wire and trees that fall on power lines. For the area, wind farmers are still in force, which can lead to additional failures.

Further north, many Texas communities experienced heavy rain and harmful winds that have thrown debris, including a trampoline that landed in a new power line in Boston.

In Louisiana, damage to the Shreveport region includes largely implemented trees and power lines. Some repairs required in many areas are in inaccessible areas where special devices are required.
