Syracuse Orange Football: Lequint Allen says that he was an outsider all his life

When Syracuse Orange, Lequint Allen, committed to SU in 2022, he was a three-star recruit from Millville, New Jersey, who entered 6-0 180 pounds. And even though he took the NJ Gatorade player of the year home with the year, he still had the feeling that he was underestimated.

“I know a lot of people thought I was nothing,” said Allen at the NFL Scouting Combine. “I was an outsider all my life.”

And Allen's football trip was not easy. Before he arrived to the NFL scouting combine, he had to fight with adversity with every step of the way.

In December of Allen Semester (2022) he was involved in a fight with another Syracus student. The struggle triggered a chain of events that at that time put football in Syracuse in the future. Not to mention that his father suddenly died during the appeal procedure for Allen's suspension after being shot in February 2023.

“Yes, it is definitely a motivation for me to continue”, everyone when his father's death motivates him. “He has the same name as me. Just to get my family at the end of the day to know where I come from and how difficult it was for them that I, how I do what I do today, I know that he looks happily down today. “

Almost six months later, Allen suspension was finally held by a judge, and he was allowed to play football the following season – in the year in which he was supposed to be the starter of the team when returning the former return of Syracuse and now Tampa Buccaneer Sean Tucker.

After that was the rest of the story. In all of two years as a starter in Syracus, he collected some serious awards. A two-time all-Acc decline (in which he was not appointed to the all-Acced team of the pre-season in both years), 1 von-6 player in the program history, in 2024 with over 1,000 rushing yards and 500, which received national (Cam Skattebo-Arizona State) with over 1,000 rushing yards, one of more than 1,000 Had yard-rushing season and one of only two players (Cam Skattebo-Arizona State).

“I like playing on my shoulder with a small chip, playing angry, getting angry.” Lequint about what makes him so good after contact. “You know, just run so as not to deny, so I run. “

And, says Allen, in view of the chance on the next level, he gets to work.

“I only grind every day when nobody looks,” added everyone. “I don't see any critics or the like. I know what I'm doing. So if I get a chance, I'll work. “

Lequint did not drive the 40-yard fittings board, but impressed during the exercises. He was quickly after the pipe and looked smoothly with football. I will have more about what I saw from the orange that has run back in my NFL combine.
