Take a look at Olivia Ellen Lloyd's paste session from the Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn

Paste Studio “On the Road” made a stopover in the Jalopy Theater and in the School of Music in Red Hook, Brooklyn, for a mini set of the songwriter Olivia Ellen Lloyd, which is located in West Virginia, with four songs from their upcoming Sophomore album Do it yourselfdue Fri, March 21. We recorded a cold and stormy afternoon in January, but Lloyd and her band brought enough warmth to save.

From the first sentence of the title track “Do it it myself” we know that we will receive a message that arose from the unique, independent vision of the artist: “I will get up and swim every morning in the pool of the Red Hook Community without thinking about them.” Independence does not mean loneliness and an album like creating an album like Do it yourself takes a village. It sounds rather as if Lloyd is talking about living in the way of living life as it thinks it is right and not emphasizing much in the opinion of others on this topic: “And I will see live -sound music as I did when I was young / my eyes close and I will move right in front of everyone.”

Lloyd also brought her dog to Hilly to the party, and dogs do everything better. The moment she came in, Hilly took a dump on the floor, but I will take a delightful dog with a little dog chisio through a scenario without a dog and no-dogshit all day. Kurt Vonnegut's anti -war novel refers to the second song “Billy Pilgrim” SlaughterhouseAnd Hilly's adoptive father is dedicated.

Lloyd laid the guitar during the semi-autobiographical third song “Live with IT” for a more susceptible vocal performance that was sung through perseverance, despite the lack of knowledge about how to proceed, and sometimes a lack of wish to continue at all. The guitarist and producer Mike Robinson gave the tone with a beautifully restored opening reef, while bassist Dave Speranza and the drummer Connor Parks always prepare us reliably for the promised land.
