Tank vs. Roach Start time, full map card details | PBC Fight Night

GERVONTA DAVIS and WBA Super in the spring weight, Lamont Roach, will later (Sat., March 1, 2025) for the “tanks” WBC Lightweight title in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, collide and live on Prime Video PPV. In the co-Main event, Jose Valenzuela defends his WBA Super Lightweight Championship against Gary Antuanne Russell, while Yoenis Tellez Tangos against Julian Williams for the interim WBA Super Welterweitlitel.

“Panzer” is undoubtedly one of the toughest rackets in the 135 pound division and, despite its ring problems, is perhaps the most puzzling star. And that says a lot because the Ryan Garcia division, Pitbull Cruz (both Davis has already defeated) Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson. If Davis can increase his victory to 31: 0-he has 28 Knockouts-, he could set up a much derived title fight against Stevenson, who defended his belt against Josh Padley last weekend (see here). And that's really what everyone wants, best to fight. The only man who was apparently able to achieve this is Turki Alalshikh, but he and “tanks” don't really see eyes. On the other hand, Canelo Alvarez was not a big fan of Turks, but he recently changed his melody and signed with the multi-millionaire. I think money rules the world.

Nevertheless, Davis has a big hurdle in front of him before he can look forward to a potential scrap against Stevenson because Roach is far from maintaining a thrust. The WBA super spring weight champion is 25-1-1 with 10 knockouts, but a “big name” intor is something that it doesn't quite have in his resume yet. Of course, no disrespect for his former enemies. But everyone can change if he can somehow pull a big surprise against a man who has rarely seen problems in the ring. The two heavy Hitter created a team of 250,000 US dollars that Davis could not end in 12 rounds, so that they may be fighting an additional fire below it to win. This should be good.

David Whitmire meets Angel Munoz in a 135 pound fight. Whitmire is undefeated with 8: 0 with six knockouts, five of which come in the first round. As for Munoz, he is 7-0 with five knockouts. The Southpaw American Fighter is only 22 years old and has had a big start to his young career.

Jamal Johnson will try to get his third victory in a row with 2-0 when he fights against Deric Davis on the sub -card. Johnson started his career in 2022, but he was not too stunned. He has a very difficult task at hand because his opponent Davis is unbeaten with 5: 0, but all five of his victories came with Knockout, four of them in the first round. Don't be too surprised if it ends early.

Cristian Cangelosi Jarrod Tennant fights in a 155 pound fight. Cangelosi is 9-0 with five knockouts, while Tennant is 9: 3 with four knockouts. Both men want to climb the ladder, a long street for all aspiring fighters. In the same division, Dwyke Flemmings Jr. will compete against Florent Dervis. Flemmings is a brighter and emerging contender with nine knockout victories to start his career. The 21-year-old will try to keep his unbeaten record against Dervis, who is 10: 2 with five knockout victories.

The 21-year-old American boxer Alexis de la Cerda Landin started his career in April 2023 and has accrued a record of 5-0 and seems to remain undefeated when he fights against Sharone Carter, who is 14: 9, although he is only 1-4-1 in his last five fights.

Who urgently needs a victory:

Jarrett Hurd and Johan Gonzalez will collide in a battle of two middleweight fighters who need a victory in a bad way. Hurd is sitting at 24-3-1, but has really been in a radio since 2019 that is only 1-3-1 in span and has dropped its WBA (great), IBF and IBO title in the middleweight. Before that he was 23-0. Nevertheless, he urgently needs a victory here if he wants to prevent another decline, and Gonzalez will not make it easy for him. The Venezuelan boxer sits at 35-4 and fights in the Orthodox attitude and is ready to make life worse for Hurd by extending his Win-Less series. He could also use a big victory because he is only 1-2 in his last three fights.

Not all events will be like the “fighting card of the century” of the past week – which had their own problems across the board. Nevertheless, the intrigue, “tank” to see in action, always brings your eyes to the screen.

In the co-main event, Jose Valenzuela will defend his WBA super lightweight title for the first time against Gary Antuanne Russell, six months after he had annoyed Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz to win the strap. Valenzuela is 14: 2 in his young fighting career, but has a hard fight in front of him in Russell, who starves after the first loss of his career in his last excursion after a victory. In fact, Russell lost a shared treatise against Alberto Puello and grabbed his 17-member unbeaten series.

In another title fight, Alberto Puello mentioned above will defend his WBC Super Lightweight title against Sandor Martin. Puello is undefeated with 23: 0 with 10 knockouts and also the WBA super-light weight champion. Martin is now 42-3 with his latest loss of Teofimo Lopez in December 2022. Apart from this setback, he is 13: 1 in his last four games, so he is more than able to disturb Puello.

Yoenis Tellez has a good start to his fighting career and achieved nine victories in a row, seven of them from Ko/TKO, and the 24-year-old Cuban fighter is for another big victory against Julian Williams, who did not win the middle weight against Carlos Adames in his last fight. This defeat brought his record to 1: 3 in his last four games. Nevertheless, he will get another chance to win boxing gold if he fights Tellez for the preliminary WBA Light Middleweight title.
