Team canvas

The team screen is Business model canvas for teamwork. It is a free instrument for managers, moderators and consultants to organize team organization meetings and bring members to the same side, solve conflicts and build productive culture quickly.

As a manager or moderator, you will experience moments when you bring team members together, clarify your goals, find out your motivations and help you to be more oriented and productive.

Use Team Canvas to start a structured conversation with the team and bring them all to the same page. Groups that go through Team CANVAS meetings report about a higher clarity and orientation with less friction and conflicts. In the long run, use the team canvas to make team culture in your company or collective.

If you want to use Team Canvas, you may like the Alex Ivanov approach, as explained in the session laboratory:

Run the session – introduce the team canvas as a tool to align the team members and to understand better goals, roles and values ​​of your team.

1. People and roles [5 minutes] – ask the people to put their names on stickes and roles. If one person has several roles, use separate post-its.

2. Frequent goals [10 minutes] – ask the team to agree on common goals.

3. Personal goals [5 minutes] – Ask the team members about the individual goals you have for the project.

4. Purpose [10 minutes] – ask the team to go a step beyond their common goal and ask them why they do what they do.

5. Values [10 minutes] – Ask the team what the basic values ​​are – the most important principles – which you want to share in the team. The team should agree on values, so everyone accepts the final sentence.

6. Strangen & assevete [15 minutes] – ask the team to share the most important skills (both hard skills and soft skills) and the assets available in the team. Discharge 'insignificant' stuff. You could find that the team has capacity for martial arts, conducts marathons or convinced people. Encourage people to share something about themselves and to notice important characteristics that they see in their teammates.

7. Weaknesses and development areas [15 minutes] – ask the team to share the most important weaknesses and areas for the improvement that it sees in itself, as well as obstacles with which they are faced as a team. Accent to report what people can find in themselves instead of discussing the weaknesses of others.

8. Needs and expectations [10 minutes] – ask the team to express the needs that have to be successful. Imagine this as a follow -up for the two existing sections: As soon as the team members have expressed their strengths and weaknesses, you should be able to express the needs that you have to express to strengthen strengths and punishment, and despite the weaknesses in the best form.

9. Rules and activities [10 minutes] – ask the team to agree on joint rules and activities. Imagine this as a result of the previous sections: a specific series of rules and activities that you want to implement.

Pack up [5 minutes] -Ask the team members when you close the Team CANVAS workshop about a single most important insight that you gained during the workshop.

Tips for executing this activity online

  • Select an online shitboard tool with which a large, zoomable canvas can be used.
  • Set up every topic in a different area of ​​the board and distribute it just as you would do it on the walls of a room.
  • Invite the participants to zoom and visit every section and add their ideas.
  • If you do not use online whites, we recommend using a collaboration tool like Google Docs to collect the information for each step under a separate heading. Invite everyone in the same document, but be very clear about the processing rights.
  • When facilitating the group discussion, we recommend that the participants use non -verbal means to indicate that they want to speak. You can use tools such as non -verbal feedback tools from Zoom, a reaction -emoji or simply people. The moderator can then invite this person to talk.
