Tennessee to face in Florida in the title of the Sec tournament

No. 4-seed Tennessee Basketball plays No. 2 Florida In the SEC tournament game on Sunday afternoon. It is the fourth appearance in the conference championship game for the Vols in the last seven seasons.

Tippoff between the Vols (27-6) and Gators (29-4) is planned for 1 p.m. ET in the Bridgestone Arena, the home of the Nashville Predators of the NHL. Dan Shulman (Play-by-Play), Jay Bilas (analyst) and Jess Sims (reporter) have the call at ESPN.

Tennessee is 76-58 ever in the conference tournament with five titles. It is 13-7 with a title (2022) under Rick Barnes.

“A championship team is recognized every year. Not as many runners -up, but they recognize championship teams,” said Barnes, after Tennessee No. 1 defeated Auburn on Saturday to get ahead. “There is no doubt that we came here with the idea that we want to win a conference championship if we know that it will be really difficult.”
