Texas increase football ticket prices before rising costs for paying players and more scholarships

Austin, Texas (AP) – Texas will increase the football card prices by $ 13 per game next season, since the program, which is already one of the richest in the nation, does justice to rising costs.

In his annual Campus Rathaus, sports director Chris Del Conte announced the price increase this week, in which he laid the expected finances of the program in the final approval of a pioneering guideline of 2.8 billion US dollars of 2.8 billion dollars, which lays the basis for the players to maintain money directly from their schools.

Texas will have new costs of almost 30 million US dollars and around 200 new scholarships in all sports, said Del Conte. The ticket price increase will help to cover some of them.

The increased scholarships cost around 9.2 million US dollars and the school plans to pay their athletes 20.5 million US dollars annually.

“We plan to reach the full border,” said Del Conte. “We do this because we want to keep Texas as the best sports department in the country.”

Texas was the only program that qualified for College Football playoff in the last two seasons. The Longhorns lost in the semi -finals in both years.

In the 2024 financial year, Texas reported an operating turnover of USD 332 million and $ 325 million. According to USA Today, the public school had exceeded the top school in both categories for the first time of $ 300 million.
