Hundreds of nurses in Texas hope to hear their voices on the greatest current issues in the state's health policy.

What is a nurse day in the Capitol?

The background story:

According to the Texas Nurse Association in Capitol, nurses come together with all backgrounds to work for guidelines that battered their job.

The “event enables nurses to learn more about nursing questions, to identify opportunities to influence health policy and to develop a personal legal message.”

Timetable:

On the first day, nurses will be on site and the almost Austin to learn something about current health policy and legislative goals and to hear from prominent voices in nursing and public health.

The event will contain an overview of the current landscape of public healthcare in Texas, the role of the nurse in health policy, the nurse's legislative agenda and a legislative body.

This follows from visits to individual legislators.

According to the Texan Ministry of Health of the Ministry of Healthcare, the number of nurses in Texas is still low compared to the national average.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that a further 275,000 nurses are needed in this decade.
