Merced, California (KFSN) – A 16-year-old boy and his father are accused of a suspected threat of shooting at the Golden Valley High School in Merced.

The police said the school received a report on a 16-year-old student who threatened on Monday to harm other students.

The officials found the suspect and searched his home.

The investigators discovered that the boy's 35-year-old father, Jonathan Olvera, had six weapons in the house, all of whom were unsecured.

Olvera was arrested for children's hazard and the weapons were confiscated.

Officers also found a BB weapon that resembled a real weapon in the bedroom of the teenager.

The 16-year-old was instructed in the youth hall in connection with criminal threats and crimes of firearms.
