The Alton's police examine the shooting of shots on students near the school bus

Alton – The Alton Police Department asks for the help of the public when they examined a shooting incident in Central Avenue on Wednesday evening, in which “several shots” were fired towards a student that was discontinued by a school bus.

On Wednesday there were several reports of shots in the 1200 block of the Central Avenue in the 1200 block of the Central Avenue.

According to the police, a school bus in Alton let off the students of the night school in the area when “several people” shoot towards one of the buses in the direction of one of the buses.

“It is clear that the suspects specifically target the person, and there is no persistent threat to the general public,” says an explanation of the Alton Police Department.

Neither the bus nor the student were hit. The police said that the bus driver quickly drove to a safe place and followed the safety protocols.

“I would like to praise the bus driver for his quick thinking and immediate measures to ensure the security of the other students,” said police chief Jarrett Ford. “The security of our community – especially our children – has our highest priority. If we arrest the persons responsible for this brazen, ruthless and dangerous behavior, I hope that the judicial system will deliver the maximum sentence, so that we do not have to worry about these people in this community that harm our children and cause trauma. “

According to the Alton Police Department, the superintendent of Ford and Alton School District, Elaine Kane, were in communication with regard to this incident. Ford thanked for the strong work relationship between the Alton Police Department and the School district and emphasized the importance of cooperation in securing the security of students and employees.

Kane had not answered a request for comments from Thursday morning.

The incident remains examined.
