The Arkansas driver licenses, IDS are digital

Little Rock, Ark. (Kait) – Arkansans can now download their state -based ID cards and driver's licenses to their cell phones.

According to the Ministry of Finance Administration, the residents may have downloaded the mobile ID app Arkansas who use digital licenses as a valid form of identification in participating companies and event locations.

The state expects the number of locations to be accepted over time.

“The state of Arkansas is currently working with TSA,” says the press release on Monday. “Approval for the mobile ID is expected for a flight for this summer.”

“My administration is working on making the Arkansas government more efficient on every level,” said Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “The introduction of a safe mobile ID helps the Arkansans to access their documents, when and where they need it and brings the state government in line with the technology of the 21st century.”

Less than 15 countries currently offer digital IDs or driver's licenses.
