The Attorney General of Israel orders the criminal investigation of the connections between Netanyahus Helfer, Qatar,

Jerusalem: The Attorney General of Israel has ordered a criminal investigation into the supposedly suspicious relationships between civil servants with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Qatar.

Qatar played a key role in the mediation between Israel and Hamas for an armistice in the Gaza Strip and the publication of Israeli hostages, reported Xinhua News Agency.

However, Qatar and Israel currently have no formal diplomatic relationships.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Meara said on Thursday in a press release that the investigation by the police and the Shin Bet Domestic Security Agency would be carried out.

The decision to start the investigation was followed by a Shin -Bet examination in contacts between high -ranking officials in Netanyahu and Qatar as well as concerns about the potential compromises of sensitive information.

Baharav-Miara said her decision was based on knowledge from the probe that she was previously presented in the day, in which “connections between people who work within the office of the Prime Minister and the company associated with the state of Qatar” described in detail.

The announcement was made after a number of investigative reports in local media have alleged business relationships between Qatar and Netanyahus advisors Yonatan Urich and Jisrael Einhorn and his former spokesman Eli Feldstein.

In November 2024, Feldstein was accused of bringing classified documents to the media in hope to derail a hostage contract with Hamas.

The General Prosecutor's office made the announcement after revelations that Feldstein, which, in a case of theft and the influence of classified IDF documents, had worked for Qatar for Qatar for Qatar for Katar.
