The backcountry Bow WoW to thank Community in the fundraising campaign

The members of the Park City Community gathered during the Ski patrol strike at Park City Mountain behind Snow Safety Professionals, collected more than 300,000 US dollars in donations for strike funds.

“We felt the most love and support of this community this year. So many people sang and sang us to support us. It feels particularly important that we have the community on our side, ”said Mike Reilly, a patruler in the seventh year at Park City Mountain.

In order to give the community a little and offer a space for connection, education and fun, the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association is holding the 10th annual backcountry Bow Wow on March 22nd.

For the first time, you will also join together with the event with the Ski Patrol Union Ski and the Park City Lift Maintenance Union, newly organized units that illustrate the advance of solidarity in the entire Wasatch and the nation of miners, said Reilly.

The fundraising campaign will share the proceeds in Wasatch Backcountry Rescue, the Mountain Training Center, the Ski Patrouille from Solitude, Park City Mountain's Lift Warting Crew and the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association. The event aims to continue decades of mission, promote on -site security and education.

“This is one of our biggest jobs on the mountain: security. Regardless of whether this is the administration of avalanches or the reaction to injuries, that is always our greatest priority, ”said Reilly. “We want people to feel safe and comfortable in several environments, be it in the resort or in the hinterland, and in all aspects.”

The Marquis Park City donated the place for the event on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live music from the Bluegrass band Pixie and the party Grass Boys and returned for the second time to support the fundraiser. The silent auction and opportunities of the event provide most of the means to the matter in which local companies and brands were and services offer for the public. Tickets are available for 35 US dollars each, with the option to donate via the event page. The backcountry Bow WoW still accepts donations for auction and raffle points.

“We really want this that this is as big as we can,” said Reilly. “Our goal was $ 100,000 and $ 1,000 for our 10th anniversary, and we hope that things will find out as closer.”

“We started this event 10 years ago because we wanted to keep this commitment up and bring our community together to collect donations for good reasons that bring people to safety,” he said. “Many of these non -profit organizations and other local organizations rely on donors to help with their public relations and training. This is really important for us and a large part of our general mission as a union itself, local public relations and commitment. “
