The British tourist of us about the visa that was released from custody, says the family | UK News

The family of a British woman who is detained in the USA for three weeks has announced that he had left the immigration center and confident that she is on the way home.

Rebecca Burke, 28, a graphic artist from MONMOUTHSHIRE, tried to cross the US state of Washington to Canada when she was refused.

The Canadian authorities asked them to return to the USA and fill out new documents before returning.

However, when she tried to return to the United States, she was tied up with handcuffs and placed in a cell before it was brought to the tacoma Northwest's prison.

Her father, Paul Burke, previously said that she was “under terrible conditions” by immigration and customs authorities (ICE) and had no access to legal representation.

On Tuesday, Burke said the family was hoping that she was on the way home.

“We hope that you cannot be sure. [that she is coming home]”He said, adding that the family felt emotional after the ordeal.

Burke planned to stay with a host family in which she would do homework in exchange for accommodation and was announced that she should have applied for a work visa instead of a tourist visa.

She was previously at a host family in Portland, Oregon, under a similar agreement after spending time in New York City, where she arrived from Great Britain for the first time at the beginning of the year.

The family collected almost 10,000 pounds online to contribute to the legal fees, the cost of living and the return flight of Burke.
