The chairman and CEO von Kroger resigned after examining personal behavior

The chairman and CEO of Kroger, Rodney McMullen, resigns after an internal examination of his personal behavior.

The company gave on Monday that the investigation of McMullen's personal behavior is not related to the business, but is not reflected as the business ethics policy of Kroger.

Board member Ronald Sargent will immediately work as chairman and interim CEO.

The 64-year-old McMullen began his career in 1978 with Kroger as a part-time excavator and stockwriter. He has been a CEO of Kroger since 2014.

This resignation is also carried out after a long potential fusion between Albertson and Kroger.

In December 2024, Albertsons gave up his merger with Kroger and announced that the food chain was sued and said it hadn't done enough to secure the regulatory approval for the agreement of 24.6 billion US dollars.
