The change of school time of school could be returned from Florida's legislation

Legislators in Florida took the first steps to reverse a decision of 2023 so that the schools begin later.

The legislator quoted children who needed more sleep as the main reason for the support of a law two years ago, in which the middle schools do not have to start earlier than 8 a.m., and the high school in earlier than 8:30 a.m. was expected that the change should work by 2026.

After the Republican Senator of Fleming Island Feedback from local school authorities, Jennifer Bradley, heard, he would like to lift the rule. She has an invoice to return the start times in the counties.

“Each district has different geographical needs, different street patterns, their school plan is a kind of rhythm of the community. And no district, no two counties are exactly the same, ”she said.

Bradley cited concerns from the local school authorities about increased costs for bus driving and the worries about the later start times that damage the activities after school and increase childcare costs for parents.
