The city council of Oakland unanimously adopts the resolution to reopen fire stations – NBC Bay Area

The city council of Oakland unanimously adopted a resolution on Tuesday to reopen three temporarily closed fire department leaders, said the office of city council member Janani Ramacandran.

The resolution, which was introduced by council members Ramacandran, Rebecca Kaplan and Zac Unger, delivers the necessary money so that the stations can resume the operation.

According to Ramacandran's office, stations 10, 25 and 28 will be reopened in the coming weeks. The resolution illustrates 2 million US dollars to keep the stations open.

The stations 25 and 28 are located in the Oakland Hills and had closed in January and should remain closed until July. Station 10 is located in the Grand Lake area and was closed in 2022 for renovation work, but was unable to reopen due to the city's budget problems.

As it now looks, all 25 fire stations from Oakland will be opened and willing to be opened “long before the end of this financial year”, June 30th, said Ramacandran's office.
