The crews react to fire at the Nakina Fire Station

Nakina, NC (GECT) – Several emergency crews reacted to a fire at a fire station in Nakina on Monday afternoon.

According to a press release from Nakina Fire and Rescue (NFR), the fire occurred at 4:30 p.m. at the Pirway Fire Department Station 29, an NFR cut.

The crews came on fire at the crime scene in the taxi and engine area of ​​a fire engine. NFR says that the fire engine was involved in an accident less than 24 hours ago that had helped combat the forest fires in horry County.

Both the fire engine and another nearby vehicle suffered considerable damage.

“I would like to assure the community that we have emergency plans and work hard to ensure that we continue to offer the service that our residents expect and earn,” says NFR boss Victor Q. Jacobs in the press release.
