The Deaths of the actor Gene Hackman and his wife It was found that a search command in New Mexico is “suspicious enough” to request a thorough examination.

The 95 -year -old Hackman and his wife, the classic pianist Betsy Arakawa, 64, were found dead in her house outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico on Wednesday afternoon, the Santa Fe County sheriff said. One of her dogs was also found dead.

“It is not normal to find two people in a residence. This is worrying,” said Adan Mendoza, Sheriff of Santa Fe County, on Thursday at a briefing.

After a maintenance worker found the door to the open house, the MPs answered in accordance with the arrest warrant received from CBS News. The Sheriff's office later announced in a press release on Thursday that a worker notified the security in the neighborhood when he received no answer at home.

The MPs found the door “unsecured and open”, the warrant said, but found that there were no signs of forced admission or that the house had been built through.

They found Hackman and Arakawa in different rooms – Hackman in an apparent mudroom and Arakawa in a bathroom. Her bodies showed signs of decomposition, which indicates that they were probably dead for some time before they were found, the warrant says.

“It sounds like they had died for a while,” said Mendoza.

The MPs also said that they had found space heating near Arakawa and an open prescription bottle and pills on a worktop near them.

The deceased dog, a German shepherd, was found in a cabinet of the bathroom where Arakawa was found, the warrant says. The dog was in a kennel or a box, said Mendoza. The deputies found two other healthy dogs on the property or in the house.

The arrest warrant says that there was “no obvious signs of a gas leak.

An investigation continues and the causes of death are determined by a medical examiner, the office of the sheriff said.

“The first results did not find an external trauma for one of the two individuals,” says the press release.

“There was no immediate sign of a foul,” said Mendoza, but he added that he had not excluded it. “This is an examination, so we keep everything on the table.”

Hackman, a two-time Oscar winner, played in dozens of films, including “The French Connection”, “The Conversation”, “unforgives” and “Superman”.

His daughters Elizabeth and Leslie Hackman and the granddaughter Annie Hackman published an explanation on Thursday in which he and Arakawa's death confirmed.
