The deputies arrested the man after accidental shooting

Laurel County, Ky. (Wkyt) – The deputies of the sheriff in Laurel County found a sought -after man after a random shootout.

The MPs say that the shootout took place on Friday morning around 8:00 a.m. on North Laurel Road.

They say the victim told the MPs that he had cleaned a pistol when he accidentally shot himself into his hand.

The MPs say that the victim's girlfriend and another man, who was identified as a 43-year-old Joseph Malicoat, were present during the incident.

Malicoat fled the scene with the pistol and was located in a company in front of US 25 by a MP of about a quarter of a mile away.

The MPs say it was found that Malicoat was a convicted criminal and wanted to alleviate a van and fled the police in the early this month.

Malicoat was arrested and is now charged with these previous charges.
