These artificial snow drifts protect seal puppies from climate change

For thousands of years, wind drove the snow in meters high in the Finnish winter in the Finnish winters along the Shoreline of the Lake Saimaa and offers first -class real estate from which the Seehund caves from which the spherical caves were carved in front of the elements and rise from newborns.

However, these snow drifts have not formed in sufficient numbers in recent decades, since the climate change has brought heated temperatures and rain instead of snow and has decimated the seal population.

People have occurred in the past 11 years to construct what nature can no longer reliably deliver. 90% of the seal puppies are now accommodating with human -made snow drifts that were built with hand snails. They are the latest in a series of measures that Saimaa's seal threatened from extinction. Read the whole story.
