The Duder Road in Gillespie County is opened to the residents after the evacuation due to the fire before the I-10

Gillespie County, Texas – – Update on October 18: According to the Gillespie County Chris Ayala in Gillespie County, the Duderstadt Road in Gillespie County has only reopened the residents after a fire led to evacuations in front of Interstate 10.

The Texas A&M Forest Service website shows that the fire brigade exceed 36 hectares and are 95% contained from Tuesday evening.

“I would like to thank everyone who offered their heavy equipment in Harper last night,” said Ayala. “The risk is proud of this type of fire and especially at night at Gillespie County!”

Ayala said that wind will still be a problem in the coming days.

“Don't take any risk with something that can cause a spark,” said Ayala.

Original history: Some residents in Gillespie County are asked to evacuate according to Gillespie County Communications Center 911's emergency shipping if a fire spreads out the interstate 10.

In a Facebook post on Monday evening, the county said that the fire from the I-10 near Mile Marker 498 and the Duderstadt Road to the north.

“There are now evacuations for Duderstadt (street),” said the post office.

The county recommended the residents north of the I-10 or the Duderstadt Road together with those in the Thrill Hill Drive area to evacuate.

“These are very preliminary information, but this fire is spreading.

The evacuations come when firefighters contain a massive grass fire in Gillespie County.

The Crabapple fire started on Saturday and has burned over 9,700 acres since then, officials said.

The fire will be 65% from Monday, as the Texas A & M Forest Service website shows.
