The examination of the shootout in Oakland Freeway is closed to the south, I-880

The California Highway Patrol closed for about 20 minutes to the south with the Interstate 880 for about 20 minutes to examine a reported shootout of the highway.

Chp announced the CBS News Bay Area that they received a report at around 7:30 a.m. of a suspect in a vehicle that swung a firearm and fired a single round in another vehicle while driving south on the I-880 between OAK and 16. The authorities said to continue both vehicles after the incident.

The answering CHP officials arrived in the area and closed all lanes towards the south near Broadway to examine the shootout. The Chp Oakland office published the Freeway closure around 10:30 a.m., a few hours after the incident.

The authorities confirmed that officials could not find any evidence and the highway could reopen shortly before 11 a.m.

The officials were later able to contact the victim, who said that there was no injuries from the shootout or damage to their vehicle. However, the victim confirmed that a shot was fired

Chp said that there is an active investigation by the incident.
