The family says that new video shows more negligence through DEKALB prison in the death of the relative WSB TV Channel 2

Dekalb County, Ga. – The family of a veteran of the army, who died in the Dekalb County prison, said that she has a new video that shows what you call even more negligence that contributed to the death of your relatives.

The family and their lawyer have been waiting for the Sheriff's office for a year to give them information about what led to Christon Collins' death and what happened in the hours after his death.

The Dekalb County's office told Tyisha Fernandes from Channel 2 That this is still an outstanding investigation, so that they do not comment at all. The family's lawyer, Ben Crump, makes his own investigation.

“It makes no sense how he ended fentanyl in his system,” said Crump during a press conference on Friday afternoon.

Crump said he wanted to make it clear that just because an inmate is charged with murder of Collins while both of them were in the Dekalb County prison, that is not over.

Collins' relatives have been waiting for a year to find out how fentanyl got into prison.

Now you are calling for answers by holding a prayer outside the prison before the press conference on Friday.

The Sheriff Melody Maddox from Dekalb County still does not comment on the case or provides information.

“We need answers and they continue to try to dance around and delay and avoid the core of the matter,” said Crump.

The family has two different autop appetizers for Collins. One said he had fentanyl in his system – and another said he had no drugs in his system. The family therefore questions the entire study.

They also want to know why prison officers did not give Collins Narcan, and they say they have a new video that shows what happened when prison officers finally noticed that after three and a half hours he was dead.

“He is captivated with handcuffs without pulse, and they took the time to stop and captivate it instead of taking time to help. As Mr. Crump said, if they had taken themselves at the same time to give him Narcan, we would celebrate him in a rehab or celebrate him at the VA and give him the help he needs, ”said mother Jonia Milburn.

Crump said the prison has had the same broken windows since last March and he said that some strings have hanging around where it would be easy to get drugs in prison.

His goal is to submit his complaint against the Sheriff's office until April 2.
