San Diego – Nowadays everything is new for the San Diego FC expansion, the latest franchise in MLS, including ties. But they are old hat against St. Louis City SC and the team in the third year showed young San Diego how it was done.

St. Louis City, who started his third year in MLS, played the first home game of San Diego on Saturday evening with a 0-0 draw in the first home game by San Diego.

Despite 14 shots and 67.1 percent property, San Diego, Roman Bürki, the goalkeeper of St. Louis and his defense were unable. St. Louis made two shots against CJ dos Santos and San Diego, but both were on goal.

Two years ago, STL City set up an MLS record by winning his first five games and ensuring that San Diego has no shot to fit it.

The defensive defensive St. Louis, which had 13 draw last season, did not allow a goal this season. It didn't achieve anyone either.

The next game of the STL City will take place on Sunday, March 6th, in the La Galaxy.

The goalless tie this season was the second in so many games after the 0-0 home default of the last week against Colorado. It also leaves Olof Melberg head coach of the first year after his first victory.

“I thought we started a little in the first 10-15 (minutes), which have found a few balls behind us, which were dangerous, but after that we defended really well,” said Mellberg.

“I think their expected goals for them were 0.8, again the boys for the hard work that they enable.

The end result hardly dampened the excitement in the sold -out Snapdragon Stadium, which was full with 34,506 fans for the home debut of the 30th franchise of the Major League Soccers. San Diego started with a 2-0 win at the defending MLS Cup champion La Galaxy last week.

“It was really nice before the game and especially at the beginning of the game,” said Mellberg. “I think we managed to kill the party a little. They didn't get as many chances as they had hoped.

“It was also a bit unfortunate for her or very unhappy for her to hurt your big star early. But a great atmosphere that enjoyed us.”

The franchise player of San Diego, Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, who was the first designated player from San Diego last year, came out in the 31st minute after the leg injured. The Mexican national team star often fought with injuries while playing professionally in the Netherlands and Italy.

The goalkeeper of STL City, Roman Burki, who did not have to rescue last week, was called for a Saturday. Overall, San Diegfo City is 13-2. Both shots from City were on goal, but only one of the owners of San Diego was within the framework.

“It is definitely frustrating, obviously special for our offensive players, maybe also for the midfielder,” said Burki. “You want to play obviously. The game is more fun if you have the ball. But I would say that if you compare our performance with a game like this last season, we would never have got away with a point last season.”

City coach Mellberg was a world class defender during his game days, and his influence in this area showed in both St. Louis games this season.

“We played really well defensively, and this is not only the defense, the entire team, also the strikers,” said Burki. “I think there was only a good campaign from our side.”

San Diego was more aggressive throughout the game, but only received one shot. Marcus Ingvartsen had a promising header in the box in the 74th minute, but put it over the crossbar.

No, not at all. I think we played a really good team today, which just didn't allow anything, “said Burki. But the quality I saw from San Diego was there. It might have been too risk that they had played us out, and then we didn't have enough boys behind the ball.

“I definitely think the way the game was going; we were satisfied with the point on the street. I told the team before the game that we are not here to entertain the party they want.”
