The football club appreciates fan who died during the game

A football club has paid tribute to a fan who died during a game.

Bob Worth died on Saturday during a game between Didcot Town and Willand Rovers in the Loop Meadow Stadium in Oxfordshire.

The match was abandoned as a result.

In an explanation, DIDCOT TOWN FC said that Mr. Worth was “a true character” and would “be sad by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him”.

“Bob Worth was a big character in the club,” it said.

“We want to express our deepest condolences to his family and friends of everyone in Didcot Town.

“We would like to thank everyone from the football family for their good wishes yesterday and today and the flowers in the club.

“We would also like to thank Vicky, who is a parent from our youth system who was there and at hand, to do the Physioth employee from Didcot Town and Willand Rovers Football Club for their quick reaction and everything they could for BOB.”

The club also praised the “quick reaction of the emergency services” and added: “Bob, they are missing by everyone in the Loop Meadow stage.”

The Didcot Town game on Sunday started silently in honor of Mr. Worth.
